I am honary Vice president of the Chesterfield Canal Trust and was writing about the canl 40 years ago. Since then greatvstrides have bee made in restroring in length from Chesterfeifld (Derbyshire) to West Stockwith and the River Trent in Nottinghamshire. The towpath walk can be done in 2 or 3 days, via Reford and is a very rewarding walk.
A5 Walk to the walk and many shorter walks along the canal. with history and amenities guide.
