ABOUT THE WALK -

As the traditional commercial traffic on the Weaver declines, it is
slowly being replaced by recreational activities as people realise that
this major Cheshire waterway is equally ideal for quiet contemplation
or strenuous activity.

Bird watchers, anglers, walkers and pleasure craft owners can find the ideal location to enjoy their own particular hobby without ruining the relaxation of others.

Rich in beauty and history the trip along the waterway, either on its
banks or on its surface, will provide endless hours of peace away from the pressures of modern life.

You will marvel at the scale of Victorian engineering such as the
Anderton Lift and the Weston Mersey Sluices and compare these with
the delicate tracery of packhorse bridges and the idyllic location of
Vale Royal locks.
